I've never been the type to rip the band-aid off quickly. I normally tear it slowly, seeing my skin rise and my hair pull. It hurts either way. But I've been meaning to start a blog all summer. I began to see my journalist friends start their own and for the millionth time I felt as if I should finally get started on the whole "getting experience" thing that everyone says is so important. So here goes, my jump into a world of technology and blogging and information that sometimes I can't even begin to comprehend. I sure hope it doesn't hurt. It hasn't been too hard getting to this point. In fact, it only took about an hour.
Anyways, let's get this party started. To put it simply:
Top things you may want to know about me (or if you are 1 of 5 people reading this, you probably already know)
1. I'm from Minnesota. Why yes, I do have a Minnesotan accent. I say "Oh ya" a lot. Mostly on purpose. All of my vowels are pronounced incorrectly. For example, room sounds like rum. Unfortunately, I have never been ice fishing.
2. I go to University of Missouri, or Mizzou for those of you that have actually heard of it. There are surprisingly few people in MN who know what I am talking about when I say Mizzou.
3. I'm a journalism major. I know, lol right? I get a lot of laughs from that one. No idea what I want to do with that.
4. Trees. Lotsa trees. I work in forestry in Minneapolis and all I do is trees. People call me about trees. I file paperwork about trees. I use computer programs about trees. TREES BRO.
5. I may or may not be a tiny bit of a ginger. I will neither confirm nor deny that and it really depends on who you talk to.
6. My sister is 24 and it's awkward because whenever we're together people ask if we're twins.
7. If you know me at all, you know I like to run. More on that will come in the future. Running is my boyfriend. But seriously.
8. I collect only one thing. Ticket stubs. More on that to come as well.
I never thought this day would actually come, but my first post is done! Come back for more Laura at a later date.
P.S. For sure comment if the desire to do so comes upon you. One of these days I'll figure out how to do that ish.
